Product Description

AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution exfoliates multiple layers of skin's surface for a brighter, more even appearance. With the help of alpha-hydroxy acids (AHA), beta-hydroxy acids (BHA), and a studied Tasmanian pepperberry derivative, a known anti-irritant, this at-home peel helps visibly even skin texture, exfoliate dead skin that can clog pores, and improve uneven skin tone. The formula is further supported with a crosspolymer form of hyaluronic acid pro-vitamin B5 and black carrot. Note: This formula contains an extremely high concentration of free acids. We recommend use only if you are an experienced user of acid exfoliation and your skin is not sensitive. The pH of this formula is approximately 3.6. Glycolic Acid, the primary AHA used in the formula, has a pKa of 3.6 and pKa is the most important aspect to consider in formulating with acids. pKa implies acid availability. When pKa is close to pH, there is an optimal balance between salt and acidity.

So, I've been doing facial peels for many years at home. Originally I would see my dermatologist about every other month and she would do them. Over time, I developed a long standing relationship with her, became a pharmaceutical rep and she gracefully and kindly "taught me the ropes" for performing the peels at home and at my own risk.

With that being said, I've used glycolic peels, TCA peels, natural peels, you name it, I've tried it. This peel by ORDINARY is something all together different in terms of results, process of application, and time. I received my bottle within two days and it was packaged well. I read the directions and proceeded to wash my face with Cetaphil for sensitive skin. I rinsed my face several times using warm to hot water and then a cool water rinse. I patted dry and waited for about 5 minutes before applying the ORDINARY peel. You never want to use a peel when your skin is wet or damp.

Once ready to apply, I used the dropper to suck some product up into the tube and then began lightly squeezing the dropper on my forehead, cheeks, chin and nose. Oddly enough, it does not really drip off your face. I'd say it's a bit thicker than a serum, but obviously thinner than a lotion. Once I thought I had enough product on my face using the dropper, I then spread the product around using a light touch with my fingertips.

After my face was covered completely (and kinda scary looking as it looks like blood), I then set the timer for 12 minutes. The directions say not to leave on the skin for longer than TEN minutes, but I know my skin and I know what it can handle and what it takes for a product such as this to work effectively. During the time the product was on my skin, somewhere around the 7 minute mark, I began to feel a slight tingling and burning sensation, somewhat like a sunburn, but definitely very tolerable. This means that the product is working and performing as it should. Yeah!

After my time was up, I rinsed my face for a good 5 minutes using cool water and making sure to not leave any product residue behind. I then patted dry very lightly and examined my skin in a high powered mirror. I was able to see areas of my skin where I've had previous issues of acne and slight wrinkles really respond to the peel. Yeah, again! I'm happy about this because this does not always happen with other peels. Seeing a response to the product means the product is really WORKING.

I waited about another 5 minutes after patting dry and applied a light moisturizer, Boots No7 Protect and Perfect Intense Advanced Serum, which is sort of part serum, part light lotion and excellent for sensitive skin. About an hour later I again examined my skin and found it to be glowing, a bit pink, soft and even textured. I have JUST FOUND MY NEW BEST FRIEND.

Not even considering price (which by the way is excellent), this will be my once a week go-to peel. It's not messy, it takes hardly any time to do and the results are fantastic. I'd recommend this to friends and others looking for an easy addition to their skin care routine, especially one that visible results are clear. At this time, I have no active acne breakouts, but I've had them on occasion in the recent past, perhaps a couple times a year I'll get one or two pimples. I think using this product regularly will prevent that from happening. I'm thrilled with my experience of the ORDINARY peel!

I'm 25 with combination, acne prone skin, and very sensitive. I have some fine lines on my forehead and around my eyes, (though I don't use it there) large pores and milia on the sides of my face. This stuff has helped with everything! After using it, my pores look so much cleaner and my skin looks and feels so smooth. My milia, which I haven't been able to get rid of in about a year, is almost completely gone, and the fine lines on my forehead seem much less visable. I'm not sure if this directly helps with fine lines, but it may have just improved the texture overall, so they aren't as noticeable. I was suffering from cystic acne on my chin and haven't had any harsh breakouts since I've been using this. I still get small breakouts occasionally, but its definitely improved from what it was.

Before I purchased this, I watched a few review videos on youtube, and decided to buy it. In one of the videos, a girl mentioned that you probably don't need to apply too much, so I decided to take her advice and only apply a thin layer. Like her, I didn't see any crazy, immediate results, but it did make my skin a bit softer and my pores appeared a little smaller. The burning sensation was pretty bad for the first 2-3 minutes, but not intolerable, so I decided to power through it. (In no way am I recommending this. Everyones skin is different) After a few minutes, it stopped burning completely, so I was able to leave it on for the full 10 minutes. I have pretty sensitive skin, and the burning felt like it does on my scalp when I've bleached my hair in the past.
The second time I used it, I applied a lot more to where it looked almost like the color it does in the bottle. The irritation was still a little harsh, but not as bad as the first time. I assume it was because my skin was already a little used to it. This time I saw much better results immediately! After this, I decided to start using a thick layer each time and the results have been amazing! Now that I'm realizing how much product I'm using, I'm taking it back a little and applying a thin layer again and still seeing great results.
I'm glad I watched videos and took the approach I did, because it allowed me to test it out to see how much my skin can handle and get used to it. Now, it doesn't burn too much, its more of just an itchy, tingling sensation, but I wouldn't recommend using it when your skin is very dry, cracked, or broken. If you do have dry skin, apply it immediately after you've rinsed your face so there's still a little moisture and avoid any areas where your skin is broken.

I only use it once a week, and although it says it should be used as a replacement of an exfoliant, I use a regular scrub at the end of the week, because my skin can get a little flaky, and I figure its safe enough if I'm only using the peel once a week instead of twice.

Ok, so I wasn't so sure about this. I felt it was all burn, not much reward. Some people have commented that it does not burn and in most cases that would be true but I always do a very aggressive microdermabrasion first before so it did burn quite a bit. But after, I never saw my skin crack up and peel any so I wasn't sure what was going on. But after about 4 days when I was applying my daily face regimen there was small amounts of skin I finally saw coming off. It was little clumps I was noticing in my creams. At first I thought maybe I had dried up food on my face somewhere but then I remembered I had done this a few days prior. It wasn't a life changing kinda product and the burn was nothing like a TCA peel. But there was also zero recovery time. You never see the skin peel. And honestly, I don't even know if I would have even had that amount of skin peeling without the microdermabrasion first. So I would highly recommend some kinda exfoliater if you don't have a MD tool at home. So you can truly maximize this product. Its a very light weight acid and i tried a patch peice on my hand and didn't feel any burn. So I imagine you wouldn't feel it on your face if you just put it on with the exfoliating first. But when I use acid, I want to feel the burn or else whats the point. This is a good solution if you want a light weight acid peel without a burning sensation. But don't expect huge results. You won't frost or peel significantly enough to combat weinkles and dark spots. It basically will speed up some skin shedding but it doesn't get deep enough for AMAZING results. I think it would be a good option though for summer time because you don't want to do a TCA peel during summer. I like it, it's not a 5 star product, but I think combined with other treatments you can achieve some results that can help.

Within a few days at 10-15 min, skin feels smoother, with clean pores and a light glow. Have used Sal & Gly Acid in past so this is a nice mild daily & affordable product. The Ord wins again.

I was first thinking is it a fake as I had a product before and it was bit different. But I found out they just changed the formula a bit, it has different smell now. When I checked the box and bottle, everything is ok and seems genuine. And most importantly it works as should.

Acetona a pelo e da uma saladinha na na textura. A longo prazo o efeito é evidente. Tem que tomar cuidado com horário de deixar na pele. Fiquei com medo de ser falsificado, todos The Ordinary que comprei aqui são originais.
